History and traditions: Also known as Oriental Amber, the Balsam Storax was exported by the Phoenicians from Mesopotamia to Egypt, where it was used to create perfumes, incense and to promote sound sleep. In fact, it was believed that its aroma had calming and relaxing properties and that it also helped restore psychic energy and strengthen self-affirmation.
